As an avid hip-hop connoisseur of New York 90’s era, I can surely state that there were dope beats, dope lyrics, and just overall DOPE music.  One of the eras greatest producers was and is DJ Premier, one half of Gangstarr.  He is among the most consistent producers ever with the boom-bap style and the ridiculous scratch cut-ins for hooks.  The big weird shit with Premo is that he has a record of picking half-ass emcees to rock over his beats.  Some of those are Smiley The Ghetto Child, Blaq Poet, AND LAST BUT MOST DEFINITELY NOT LEAST Group Home.  The team of Lil Dap and Malachi the Nutcracker came out with the CLASSIC record “Livin Proof” in 1995.  Many people consider this album Premo’s best work EVER production-wise.  Lyric-wise the keeds in the street would say L O L L M A O.  So I will go into the best (or worst) lyrics that Group Home has ever spit….

Somewhere around 4 or 5 years ago, I started noticing a big trend by many people (Specifically dudes), especially the Likkle Dem Youf (Youth), to wear TIGHT ASS JEANS, MURSES (Man Purses), and Tight Rib-Breaking Flannel Shirts.  WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON EARTH PEOPLE?  I mean no wonder so many Viagra commercials are on tv nowadays.  Men wear these jeans so tight their dicks don’t work right anymore.  Look at said HERB at above picture.  He is a wannabe-bay, but not a successful one.  He thinks his tight skin crawling jeans are just the thing to make the honeys glare.  The bright blue MOONBOOTS he is rocking look like a bad version of krusty the clown shoes.  The rib-breaking purple flannel shirt is used to attract the early 80’s crowd of herbivores.  The Rabies brand hoodie he has on is to attract the tranny brazil parade too.

Of course trends in the 21st century don’t really get a good following until the celebrities get on it or start something.  Look no further than Kanye West.  This man has been putting out garbage music for the better part of 7 years now.  His love of manbags, ugly shoes he brands as his own, shag haircuts, and 1981 short jean jackets solidifies him as a trend starter as well as dickridah.  Parts of Manhattan (lower manhattan especially) and ESPECIALLY RegiBrooklyn (White Brooklyn/Regentrified) have become public target number one where one can see many people rockin these trends.   What happened to guys rocking jeans that were maybe a little baggy, but more than anything, comfortable.  What happened to Ballys, Timberlands, Wallabees, and straight up regular ass sneakers.   When guys started dressing like women is when I knew for sure the era of music I grew up with and loved was essentially a complete wrap.  A friend of mine, who lives in Brooklyn and dresses nothing like the mentioned trends in this article, told me that he tried to go to Club Greenhouse Tuesday night and the doorman literally told him his Jeans “Weren’t tight enough” and he got turned away! No one is saying that the trend should go back to wearing Hockey Jersey’s and high-top fades (oh wait, some hipsters are even trying that one…Nevermind), but can’t this bullshit just go away?  I’ll leave this post with a dope hip-hop video that is a parody of 90’s east coast hip-hop video’s (think Onyx), yet the song is dope I must say.

Around 10:30 p.m., I ended up going a mile and half down the street to my friend’s apartment.  The drive there was fine, just a little slush on the road.  I get there and we basically just watch some tv and listen to some vintage old hip-hop (you know before the genre turned to complete shit).  I also forgot to mention, I downed about 3 full glasses of a mix of 1/2 Absolut Vodka and 1/2 Cranberry juice.  Around 12:30  a.m., I am slightly tired and definitely tipsy so I decide it’s time to go home.  I notice the parking lot of the complex is completely iced over and it’s thick.  I get in the car and make it towards the exit, one slight problem though: THE EXIT IS ON A HILL AND IT’S A COMPLETE SKATING RINK.  I try for 5 minutes to make it up the hill and out the complex, but to no avail. I decide then to just park the car and try again in the morning. Only thing is that I parked it on the other side of the apartment complex about 3 turns from the gate.

I get out of the car and then realize I’m slightly drunk and definitely lost and can’t find my friends apartment.  I tried to walk through the woods and take a shortcut but noticed at one point I’d have to jump about 10 feet down to the next part of the complex.  HELL NAW (as they say here in A T EL).  I start walking back through the parking lot, call my friend to tell him I cant find his place, and in the middle of the call —–SLAM.  I bust my ass and fall on my side.  I am literally gasping for air as the epic fall crushed the right side of my ribs.  My friend is completely laughing hysterically on the phone as he realizes I just busted my ass.

Ten minutes later, I arrive back at his apartment and try to lie down.  Little did I know that the fall mixed up the liquor in my system. I started to get the spins.  YAK…..I throw up FOUR times in the toilet and am effed up.  Eventually, I fall asleep.  When I wake up around 9am, I realize I need to get home. Eff this.  I hear CAR AFTER CAR screeching tires in failure trying to leave the parking lot skating rink.  I think back to myself, SHIT I HOPE I CAN FIND MY CAR.  It takes 20 minutes to find the car, but then I realize something else stupid.  I PARKED ON THE BOTTOM OF A HILL.  They cleared the exit hill of the ice and snow but the hill I parked on was way more icey and way steeper.  Another guy and I try for FOURTY FIVE minutes to get our cars up the hill but just spin tires over and over and over.  Eventually some people come out to salt the hill but of cois that shit doesn’t work at all.  Eventually, I back the car to the very bottom of the hill where the sun had melted a good amount of the ice.  I get a good start like I was Doc in Back to the future and BAH DAH finally I make my exit!

Last night was one of the dumbest nights of my life.  I should have just listened to myself and stayed in and played xbox.  This post surely will make me sound like I was 19 years old again…Oh Well.

I live in Atlanta, and while the city is becoming more diverse, it still is mainly Black (55%) and White(40%).  I saw on the local news and THIS AJC article that the local population of Asians is pissed the eff off at MARTA for them naming a northeast ATL line the YELLOW LINE.  The area where MANY asians (mainly Vietnamese, Koreans, and Chinese) live is in Doraville and Chamblee (lovely nicknamed Chambodia for obvious reasons).  Although it is true that those are two of the areas on the yellow line, it is also massively populated by many Mexicans and Salvadorians.  I work literally 2 miles from the Doraville stop on the Yellow Line and I can tell you I see more Mexicans on a daily basis than any group of Asians.   In a weird type of thought I came to the realization that by them saying the Yellow Line is offensive due to “skin color connotations” , they are basically saying HEY WE OWN THIS PART OF TOWN.

Atlanta is stupid as hell, MARTA is very outdated and they now want to try to use color codes like the DC METRO and to a degree the MTA in NYC.  First of all, MARTA really only takes you to 3 types of places; the hood, the mall, or the airport.  They might as well name the northeast line the SUR 13 line, Asians don’t even use MARTA.  They are too scared of blacks taking their shit.  Atlanta, along with the LA area, are the two most spread out metropolises in the country and the mass transit available in this city is PATHETIC.  They should seriously destroy MARTA and start fresh, most of these stops take you to the middle of nowhere if they aren’t from the three aforementioned categories I described above.  If you don’t have a car in this city you might as well move to NY or London, totally effed.  YELLOW LINE SCHMELLOW LINE, if they started naming north ATL stops WHITE LINES (dope song) and south ATL stops BLACK LINES, then maybe asians could start to complain.  Until then chill out and keep making those Korean and Vietnamese signs all over.

So this is my first post on Streetverse, I go by Italian0, and I’m a blunt, brash person from North Jersey.  Enough about that, I find myself to be very cynical on many things these days. I wanted to talk about 3 things in particular though right now:

1. Technology has definitely ruined society as a whole, especially in America- Pointing back to Freewill’s earlier post about how he noticed NO ONE reading ANYTHING on the subway in NYC, this is exactly my point.  Think about the days before the internet was a daily use organism for most people.  TV Shows were better, such as New York Undercover, Martin, Simpsons (way better before internet age), and even ESPN-way way better.  Music WAS DEFINITELY better.  I am an avid hip-hop fan and we all know today’s hip-hop is the equivalent of the Cleveland Browns.  Even other genre’s the majority would agree pre-internet was way better.  People these days don’t even have face to face conversations, just hit each other on the TWEETS with “LOL”’s “LMAO”’s or “GTFOH”’s, in the next decade you will see even more hobbits in the world.

2.  PEYTON MANNING IS A BABY- Well after last night’s NON HANDSHAKE with anyone on the Saints this is definitely true.  Ok, the man is a top 5 NFL QB ever, but he always seems to be crying on the bench about someone that isn’t him doing something completely wrong.  Sometimes he is right, half the time not so much.  Don’t let Jim Caldwell (Colts Coach) have you fooled, the real coach of the team is Peyton.  He calls AWWWWWWL da shots…notice he can audible out of ANY PLAY at ANY TIME to a pass….man has MAD POWER to the likes of Pol Pot during the Khmer Rouge.  Also, this video clip of Peyton cussing out his rookie runningback always gets me to laugh:

3. THICK Vs. FAT- Ok, so I currently live in the trans fat capital of America….The South (specifically Atlanta).  People eat here like tomorrow is the last day of the value meals at McDonalds, therefore obviously there are TONS of fat people in Atlanta.  One thing I have noticed is that many fat women (or headed there) call themselves THICK.  Please refer to point 1 I made above about technology, the internet and the many webcams out there have given fat chicks a way to be very divisive in angle photography as to not look fat at all.  I’m also not gonna lie, I’ve done the online dating thing several times before and notice this;  catchwords like “average”, “comfortable” and “healthy size” all REALLY mean fat.  Now 97% of THICK women are really just fat, there ARE 3% probably who by definition are Thick and have a good shape, it’s just way under the amount what the women here have you think.
